This assembly will allow simple access to Garmin GPS units using the Garmin¿ protocol. Waypoints and routes can be stored and retrieved from the GPS. In addition access to other GPS information is made available DateTime satellite information current position, tracklog, proximity waypoints etc.
The library is a .Net assembly designed to provide a simple object based interface to the Garmin¿ range of GPS units for use with languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic¿. The Library will automatically detect the correct protocols to use for the connected GPS unit. All protocols documented in the GARMIN GPS Interface Specification (December 6 1999) are supported. In addition, the recent Waypoint Data Type D109 is also supported.
